Merry Christmas

It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas, even if it is 28 degrees outside with 82% humidity and a thunderstorm brewing!  We have had a pretty eventful 2010, so here's our news since our last blog:

Scott had hip surgery in November which will hopefully be his last!  His recovery is slow but steady, we can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel.  He continues to amaze me with his positive attitude and perseverance.  He has done well with his studies with only one unit left to finish his Grad Cert.  I can't wait to see him in a cap and gown (yeah right).

Jake finished school on a high note having achieved fantastic results.  He will be starting year 8 at a new school which he is happy about as they have a comprehensive sporting program and will be able to try out for the NT Soccer team next year.  Soccer is still his number one passion and he was proud to be awarded the Most Valuable Player trophy by his soccer team.  He also managed to complete his first year of the Junior Police Rangers and I am happy to report that unlike his father, doesn't square gate when he marches.

Tommy also did very well at school this year and is also proving to be quite the athlete - he came 2nd in his school for high jump and came fifth overall in Darwin.  Tommy also did well in soccer where he once again qualified to play up a year.  It was nice to see both boys playing in the same team and even nicer to see the good sportsmanship and support they showed each other and their team mates.

I too have finished my studies and am thoroughly enjoying not having to study or write assignments.  My big achievement for the year was turning 40 which was celebrated with family and friends.  I think the best part of the year was our three week holiday in Bali...we are definitely in love with the place as we have now booked for four weeks next year.

I am happy to say that we have all had a great year and are all looking forward to relaxing over the Christmas break.  We wish you and your families all a very Merry Christmas and the very best for 2011.

Much love,
Scott, Daya, Jake and Tommy xxx
